Will reality TV stars ever get on Walk of Fame?

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a veritable directory of the folks who've made it in the worlds of film, television and music.

Over the years, 2,445 brass stars set in coral terrazzo tiles have been dedicated to luminaries from Lucille Ball and Johnny Carson to Penlope Cruz and Johnny Depp. But there is a subset of stars that so far has been missing from the lauded bunch, even though they tend to score their networks' highest ratings, earn the most money or?in many cases?make the most headlines.

"Hell to the No!"

Literally, that's what it says on the Hollywood Walk of Fame's Facebook page in response to the question.

"That's my personal opinion as the caretaker of the Walk of Fame for 24 years...I'm very protective," Ana Martinez, VP of media relations and all-around expert on the subject, tells E! News. "And people are kind of in agreement."

Not that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has had to slam the door in anyone's face just yet.

"It's not on our radar, no one [from that community] has asked," Martinez says. "But I don't think stars are in the future, in my opinion."

There has already been some overlap among artists who were famous before they had reality shows, like star-holders Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons. But, Martinez notes, they are definitely on the Walk of Fame because of their celebrity as rock stars, and not "The Osbournes" or "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels."

Then there's someone like Mark Burnett, who makes reality TV. But "he's a major producer," Martinez says, as is "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller, who got his star in May.

Of course, Martinez acknowledges, people like Kim, Paris, et al. "may have a career later on," in which case, they aren't going to be counted out just because they started on reality TV.

So, when Paris Hilton wins her Oscar, we can revisit.
