Forums are an really important place when dealing and advertising underground beats. They don?t only offer news, advice and a lot of helpful information. They are also a really good place to show off your beats and gather a fan base. But there is also few principles to follow when advertising on forums.
1. Do not just register to several forums and as a first message tell people to check your underground hiphop beats. That usually doesn?t work and people will probably just ignore you because they can see you?re only there to advertise. Many people sees it as ?spam?.
2. Sign up to the message board, write a lot of motivating things, comment on different topics and stay active. That way people recognise you and if you have some motivating things and tips and hints to give out, they will start appreciating you. Only then you can start promoting your beats a bit. They will be interested what you?re all about if you?ve given some good advices and good information to the community forum.
3. Always use a signature on your posts with your web site on it + some other valuable information about you. But remember, keep it short and simple. No one likes to read long signatures. By doing this, every people reading your posts sees the link to your website. And if your posts are wonderful, people will click the link and go to your page to check you out.
4. Targeted marketing. Let?s say you?re a hiphop artist or beatmaker, what kind of forum should you sign up to? A Hiphop message board of course where people listen to hiphop beats, underground beats and what not. That way you can target your marketing to the specific people that are interested in hiphop sounds. I?m not saying it?s the only way of course, there are a lot of forums out there waiting for you to sign up to.
Discussion boards are a good place to promote yourself but you have to do it exactly right so people won?t confuse you to a spammer. Do not sign up to message board just because you want more fans. Do it to stay up-to-date on everything that is happening in the industry and in the side you might get some more listeners, fans and even friends. Build Connections and it will serve you well for a long time. Ties are the main thing in the tunes industry.
So go and join forums, be active. When you have build an foundation then start promoting your underground beats, hiphop beats and whatever you do.
