Have you made your pick on tomorrow's lightweight title fight? It sounds like everyone is split on the third fight between UFC champ Frank Edgar and Gray Maynard. Even the crowd equally booed the two fighters at the Toyota Center.
They both made weight easily. Maynard, trailed by diet guru Mike Dolce, was absolutely shredded. He'll be the bigger man in the cage at UFC 136. Edgar walks around at 162 while Maynard could be 170-plus by the time the introductions are made tomorrow night around 10 p.m. CT.
On stage, Edgar said he's sick of the "kid" and wants to curb "The Bully."
This is his second fight at the weight so he should be acclimated. It's his third shot at a UFC title.
"This is the fight that brought me to 145. I've trained too hard and suffered too much to not come away with the title tomorrow night," Florian told UFC analyst Joe Rogan.
The co-main events are both Fight of the Night candidates, but they'll have competition from Leonard Garcia-Nam Phan, Melvin Guillard-Joe Lauzon and Anthony Pettis-Jeremy Stephens. Pettis and Stephens had the most intense staredown during the weigh-in.
The only intense moments beyond that, were the weigh-ins by Tiequan Zhang and Brian Stann. They both came in a half-pound heavy and both dropped their drawers to make weight successfully.
